What's a Keyword Search?

Careerbox.net's Targeted Keyword Search is one of the most useful search tools in helping you find the job you’re made for. By refining your search to include only the jobs that contain the keyword(s) you entered, you can spend more time viewing the right jobs and less time searching through irrelevant ones

What are search criteria?

This is the information you select to help narrow down your search to include only those jobs that interest you. By specifying more or less criteria you can control how wide a net you cast.

The most common tools to focus your search include:

Industry : select from a list of industries

Subcategory: select one or more specialisations within your chosen sector

Location: select from cities and regions in Lebanon

Job type: Select from a range of job types (permanent, contract, etc.)

What is Advanced Search?

Advanced Search is an expanded search function that lets you select multiple subcategories and add a keyword in a bid to find the right job. Here you can limit your search to only include government jobs, include more than one sector at a time, or specify the type of work you are after – like part time for example.

Power Searching (this function is to be available soon)

With so many different jobs and so many ways to categorise them, we recommend trying a few different search combinations from time to time.

Make the most of our targeted keyword search to help focus on the jobs you want. Try entering a job title, a specific skill that might be required, or both! You can also use keywords that help define a particular job type of job like ‘Night Shift’.

Why haven't I received a copy of my application?

Usually an email copy (confirmation) of your application is sent to you every time you apply for a job. If you haven’t received one, it might be because of your email security settings. Try checking your Junk Mail folder to see if it’s there.

If this is the case, it doesn’t mean that the company or recruiter did not receive your application. It just means your settings may be causing unfamiliar emails to be automatically diverted from your inbox.

To stop this from happening in the future, simply add ‘Careerbox.net’ to your ‘Safe List’. This will ensure that all Careerbox.net mail will be delivered to your Inbox. Here’s how:

Outlook 2003:

Click ‘Tools’ > ‘Options’

In the ‘Preferences’ tab, click the ‘Junk E-mail’ button

Select the ‘Safe Senders’ tab, then click the ‘Add’ button

Enter www.Careerbox.net in the pop up box and click ‘OK’

Click ‘OK’ to close both settings boxes

Hotmail:

Log into your Hotmail account

Click ‘Options’ > ‘Junk E-mail Protection’ > ‘Safe List’

Enter Careerbox.net in the box and click ‘Add’

Yahoo:

Log into your Yahoo account

Click ‘Mail Options’ > ‘Filters’

Click the ‘Add’ button

Enter Careerbox.net in the ‘From Header’ field

Select ‘Inbox’’ for ‘Move the message to Inbox’

Click ‘Add Filter’

Click the ‘Add’ button

Server Error and Time Out messages

These messages are usually temporary and fixed by clearing your cache. This is basically your computer’s short-term memory that stores all the information from pages you’ve previously viewed.

For Internet Explorer users simply hold down the SHIFT key and click REFRESH on your browser. For Netscape users hold down the SHIFT key and click RELOAD.

If you continue to have problems, try closing and re-opening the browser.
